Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) certification/license in New Jersey (NJ)
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification/license
• Have you applied at VNA Health Group in the last 6 months?
• 1+ years of experience with Hospice or Home Health Care or Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) or Community Health
• Have you ever been previously employed at VNA Health Group?

Overview
Join our client's team as a full-time Hospice Registered Nurse in Essex County, NJ. This position will provide comprehensive end of life care to patients/family units who are currently experiencing a terminal illness. The role involves utilizing nursing knowledge and skills in the implementation of prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment for the patient and self. This position will service the following coverage areas; Essex County, NJ

Key Responsibilities
● Provide direct or indirect skilled comprehensive nursing care to a specified (or variety) of age and diagnostic groups
● Function independently in providing comprehensive end of life care to patients/family units who are currently experiencing a terminal illness
● Utilize principles of the nursing process to assist in data collection, planning and evaluation of nursing care
● Demonstrate nursing knowledge and skills in the implementation of prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care
● Take and record patients' vital signs
● Administer specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or inter-muscular injection, and note time and amount on patients' charts
● Reinforce instructions and explanations of the patient Plan of Care or teaching plan
● Use oral and written communication to convey pertinent information to members of the health care team in a timely manner
● Report any significant changes in the patient’s health status to the appropriate individual(s)
● Maintain a safe environment for the patient and self
● Identify unmet learning needs and seek assistance from others in meeting those needs
● Comply with company policies and procedures
● Complete all required forms, reports, time cards, itineraries, etc, accurately and within designated timeframe
● Recognize and follow established lines of communication

● EMR: Home Care Home Base
● Equipment Provided: Tablet, Phone

Schedule and Shift Details
● 8:30a-4:30p, 1-2 Saturdays a month
● Including working one summer and one winter holiday
