Job Summary
- Client is seeking dynamic, experienced Clinical Nurse Manager, for our Medical Surgical Unit.
- The Clinical Manager provides and integrates clinical leadership and fiscal and resource management of a designated unit/area of patient care on a twenty-four-hour basis, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, department of Nursing, and the clinical services.
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory standards is a critical element of the position.
- The ideal candidate is experienced in driving patient experience, including HCAHPS scorings.
- Minimum two years clinical experience in Med-Surge Nursing; advanced communication, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Lead and manage a team of 15-16 nurses in a busy Medical-Surgical and Telemetry environment, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Drive improvements in patient experience and satisfaction by promoting hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and meaningful connections with patients.
- Enhance nursing quality indicators and improve documentation and attendance standards.
- Ensure consistent application of hospital policies and procedures across the unit, while maintaining equal treatment and fairness for all staff.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve overall unit culture and enhance the patient experience.
- Provide supervision and support during rotating coverage shifts, including supervising code responses and rotating supervisor duties (including Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification for pediatric emergencies in the ED).
- Manage staffing ratios of 1:6 for Med-Surg and 1:4 for Telemetry units.
- Oversee 35-bed Med/Surg unit (Ratios: 1:6 for Med/Surg, 1:4 for Telemetry).
- Drive patient experience - improve hourly rounding, bedside report (currently lacking leadership in these areas).
- Motivate and lead staff to improve patient experience scores (currently the lowest).
- Be a self-starter-actively engage in nursing leadership and operations.
- Supervise staff and ensure clear leadership structure
- NYS RN License
- BSN Required Masters Preferred
- Required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Must have a strong clinical background and leadership experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry environment.
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire nursing staff and enhance team performance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with both staff and patients.
- Ability to drive change, improve patient experience metrics, and oversee clinical outcomes.
SALARY: $125,000K- $140,000K
